Happy Happy Happy Happy Happy birthday card featuring amazing colours!

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn

Tonight I'm being inspired by another amazing challenge featuring colour!!

This time we are farewelling some gorgeous bright colours.

I've been inspired by lots of other amazing creators to put these colours together in a cascade of colour.

I stamped the greeting in all of the colours, and then flicked the same colour using Stampin' Write markers to continue the colours theme.  I've also replicated the colours for the background too.

And the inside continues the theme too!!  I hope you're inspired to give this idea a go!!

INKspired to join the challenge? It's so easy. Firstly, get some INKspiration by checking out all of the creations of the Colour INKspiration Crew in the challenge album on our Facebook page. Then you have 12 days from today to make and upload your creation to the Facebook Colour INKspiration Group. You don't have to have a blog to participate but if you do you can link back to your post. Make sure you use all of the challenge colours. You can also use neutrals such as Basic White, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Basic Beige and Basic Black as well as Metallics.

April Scrapbooking Challenge - any reason to do some scrapbooking!

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

In case you didn't know, I love to scrapbook as well as make cards.  Each month, there's a great challenge in a Facebook Scrapping group I'm in and I like to do it as it gets me doing MORE scrapping.  This month the challenge details are:
April 2024 Scrapbooking Challenge.
Repeating patterns/design elements
2 or more photos
Hand written journalling
Grunge look with splatters, inked AND or torn edges

The repeating patterns are the 2 x leaf die cuts at the top and bottom of the pages, as well as the photos being in a geometric repeating arrangement.  I've torn my gorgeous papers and also splattered the base cardstock with a marker, and then sponged as well for more grunge.

I always hand write my journalling (too lazy to print off writing and I never want to say too many anyway!!) and I usually scrap lots of photos anyway - I have the perennial problem of too many photos and not knowing what to choose!!

So, how do you think I went???

Thanks to this challenge, I have another page done and dusted!!  Hopefully NEXT month, I can do the challenge EARLY instead of when the month is almost over!!  lol.  Please leave any comment love - it really helps me know what you like to see on my blog!

Mini Catalogue Inspiration CTC#466

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn

Tonight I'm joining in a blog hop with CASEING the CATTY.  To CASE is to Copy And Share Everything or to Copy And Selectively Edit and we love to CASE from our amazing Stampin' Up! catalogues (catty).

Today we are CASEING from our favourite mini catalogue project.

I've been inspired by the layout for the Thoughtful Expressions Suite on page 60 - but have completely changed the colours to use some NEW InColours coming in our catalogue next month.

The colours are:  Summer Splash, Pretty in Pink, Peach Pie and some Mossy Meadow.

This card is so much more that my usual style - which is the fantastic thing about CASEING - I would never thing of doing so many amazing layers - and it looks so lush and gorgeous!

I've continued the same layering and colours inside the card.  What do you think?

Make sure you keep hopping to see lots more amazing projects to inspire you!

Scrapbooking Sketch - blog hop inspiration for you

Hello and Welcome to Handmade by Julia Quinn.

Today I'm hopping with another bunch of amazing scrapbookers with the Scrapbooking Global group.

We have a monthly blog hop with LOTS to inspire you EVERY month!!  This month, we have a sketch challenge - and I LOVE a good sketch to get me started scrapping!

Hopefully you can see EXACTLY how I've been inspired by this sketch!!

My page is TOTALLY created using the Sweet Thoughts memories and more cards

I love the sticker sheet from the memories and more cards!!  The little butterflies and heart really pop and look great on my page.

To create the journalling aspect on my page, I trimmed 2 little journal labels and stuck them together to make it look like 1 separate journalling panel.

The colours for my page are Pretty Peacock and black and white - I ALWAYS use my photos as my first step in choosing colours and I took into account the colours for the memories and more cards too.

The totally cool thing about these memories and more cards is all the butterfly motifs which is exactly what is on the sketch!

My last step for my page was to flick a little pretty peacock ink to try and replicate the dotty details from the sketch image.  Check out that cool little round 'today' sticker - exactly like the sketch!!  That was lucky!!

I hope you're inspired!!

Make sure you keep hopping to see LOTS of brilliant inspiration .
